Juventus have ended their interest in Chelsea midfielder Nemanja
Matic, leaving the door open for Manchester United to complete a deal.
Corriere dello Sport claims that the Serie A champions, are refusing
to pay the £40million the Blues are demanding for the Serbia
international.
Chelsea manager, Antonio Conte, is happy for Matic to reunite with
United boss Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford, having completed a deal for
Tiemoue Bakayoko earlier this month.
Owner Roman Abramovich has cleared the way for the 28-year-old to
leave for Old Trafford. Matic has already been informed that he will be
allowed to go, as a gesture of goodwill in view of his service to the
club.
Abramovich stepped in to afford Petr Cech a similar courtesy and let
him join Arsenal in 2015 when Jose Mourinho, then manager of Chelsea,
was firmly against the transfer.
