We Want Electronic Transmission -- Not Just Uploading Photographs Of Results
Electronic Transmission of results cannot just be regarded as the: taking pictures of the ballot tallying at the Polling-Units, and uploading them to the IREV-Portal.
That is even the barest minimum of what we are requesting for.
What we are requesting for is not just the upload of the photos of the results -- but the actual Electronic Transmission of the Results, which involves the Electronic Transmission and the Electronic Collation of the Results at the same time.
Let me explain further...
The presiding officers at the polling units must input the results for each party inside the BVAS-Machine, and then transmit the results online to an online collation-server; so that there would also be an electronic collation of the transmitted votes online.
Then, the photos of the “signed and stamped results” (at all levels of results production) would then be uploaded to the IREV-Portal for Audit and Cross-Checking purposes.
We don't want an manual collation system where corrupt professors would be sitting at a collation-centre, and be tabulating millions of votes with analog calculators..
This is no more 2011.
This is 2026 for goodness’ sake.!!
Nevertheless,, if the members of the National Assembly insists on giving us the “MANUAL Collation” coupled with only the online uploading of the photographs of the results of the elections,,
Then, here are the 3 things which they MUST make the ELECTORAL ACT to ALLOW to be electronically transmitted to the IREV-Portal:
1. The Photographs of the Polling-Units Results
2. The “NUMBER OF ACCREDITED VOTERS” which was automatically captured inside the BVAS-Machines
3. THE PHOTOGRAPHS OF ALL THE COLLATED RESULTS FROM ALL THE COLLATION-CENTERS ACROSS ALL THE LEVELS OF COLLATION.
(This No.3 above is very very important -- they shouldn't be uploading only the Polling-Unit Results alone to the IREV-Portal.)
