A debate has started online after an X user questioned men who refuse to eat food stored in the fridge, despite their wives also working full-time and commuting daily.

The user described such expectations as unfair, saying some men place unrealistic domestic pressure on their partners.

In response, another X user shared a personal story about a friend who insisted on eating only freshly cooked meals, rejecting any food that stayed overnight or entered a freezer.

According to the story, the man’s wife eventually resigned from her job because balancing a 9–5 with cooking fresh meals twice daily became impossible.

However, things reportedly changed after the economic situation worsened following Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, forcing the wife to return to work when the husband could no longer manage expenses alone.

The narrator said he later saw the woman dressed for work and gave her a lift, where she revealed she had resumed her job.

He added that the same husband who once rejected overnight food now eats it without complaints.
