Court Sentences Pastor To Death For Murder Of UNIUYO Final Year Student In Akwa

 An Akwa Ibom High Court has sentenced a pastor, Prince Emmanuel Umoh, to death by hanging for the gruesome m8rder of a final year Engineering student of University of Uyo, Gabriel Bassey Edward.

LIB reported that Umoh, a resident pastor of Living Faith Church also known as Winners Chapel, m8rdered Edward in December 2020 at his residence, Ifa Ikot Ubo-Ifa Ikot Okpon in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. Read here here 

The 23 year-old whose academic results, released after his death, revealed that he graduated with a First-Class degree.

Reacting to the sentencing, human rights lawyer, Inihebe Effiong commended the prosecutor and also advised churches to do thorough screening of those they intend to ordain as ministers.
