(PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Mrs Titi Abubakar has solicited the
support of a former governor of Oyo state and Action Democratic Party
(ADP), gubernatorial candidate in the 2019 general elections, Chief
Christopher Adebayo Alao-Akala towards her husband's Presidential
ambition.
Titi Abubakar made this request when she visited Alao-Akala at his
Bodija Ibadan residence on Wednesday.
The Osun State-born wife of the former Vice President during the visit
in company of other dignitaries added that her visit was part of her
efforts in 'seeking the support of notable politicians in support" of
her husband's ambition in the presidential election.
She said that her visit to Alao-Akala was in continuation of her
nationwide consultation with leaders of thought, opinion moulders and
top politicians across all political divides, religious and political
leaders and traditional rulers.
She stated further that "Alao-Akala being a major stakeholder and a
force to reckon with in the political calculation of the south-west
and Nigeria at large", it behoves on her as a daughter of the land to
inform the elders of her place of birth of the political ambition of
her husband who is also a son of the soil by extension of marriage and
having spent the better part of his early life in the Southwest.
She maintained that this propelled her to come to the state and seek
the support of the former governor in ensuring Alhaji Atiku Abubakar's
victory at the forthcoming election.
She encouraged people of the state and supporters to vote for Atiku
Abubakar as the presidential candidate of the party.
Mrs Abubakar and her host, Alao-Akala later went into a close door
meeting which lasted for about 50 minutes.
