The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, on Friday reacted to President
Muhammadu Buhari’s failure to submit his academic credentials to the
Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
Buhari’s Secondary School certificate controversy made the headlines
in 2014 during the build-up for the 2015 presidential polls where he was
the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Ahead of the 2019 election, details of various candidates’
credentials were made available to reporters in Abuja on Thursday and it
emerged that President Buhari only submitted an affidavit wherein he
claimed that his credentials were with the Secretary of the Military
Board.
Buhari’s affidavit reportedly read, “I am the above-named person and
the deponent of this affidavit herein. All my academic qualification
documents as filled in my Presidential form, APC/001/2015 are currently
with the Secretary of the Military Board as of the time of this
affidavit.”
Reacting to the development, PDP’s spokesperson, Kola Ologbondiyan advised Buhari on what to do.
In a tweet, Ologbondiyan said Buhari should write to military authorities asking for his credentials.
He wrote: “Integrity demands that you write to military authorities asking them to forward your credentials to INEC
“Even @MBuhari followers are not prepared to accept NEPA Bill for WAEC in 2019
“So, Mr President, Wey your certificate?”
