Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, remains optimistic that he can still sign Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal.
However, he may be forced to switch his top attacking target, if
their Premier League rivals maintain their position that he is not for
sale.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has reiterated his stance that the Chilean
striker will remain at the club, amid speculation that Paris
Saint-Germain want to sign him.
Sanchez, who has one year left on his current contract, has already
admitted he wants to play in the Champions League, with Arsenal set to
compete in the Europa League next term.
Sources have told ESPN FC that he would prefer a move to the Etihad
Stadium and the opportunity to work with his former Barcelona boss,
Guardiola.
It is understood he is even prepared to take a lower salary than he
has been offered by potential suitors PSG, Bayern Munich and Juventus.
