PDP Professionals Order Wike's Loyalists To Vacate Wadata Plaza

..... after the Appeal Court ruling.

According to a report by the ARISE News on Monday June 8,2026, the Conference of Professionals within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has alerted the group led by Abdulrahman Mohammed to vacate Wadata Plaza, the National Secretariat of the PDP, immediately or face forceful eviction.

In a statement issued by the national coordinator of the PDP Professionals, the warning came after a clear ruling from Justice Uchechukwu, JCA, of the Court of Appeal in APPEAL NO. CA/IB/M.90/2026.

Obinna Nwachukwu stated, "This judicial ruling has effectively removed any legally recognized authority from the stubborn factions, revealing their continued presence in the party's office as an open act of defiance, intrusion, and political pretense."

He added, "To clarify for the public and eliminate any doubt, we provide the following explanations. The Court of Appeal, when addressing an objection to the appearance of Dapo Durosaro, Esq. for the PDP and Ambassador Umar Iliya Damagum (National Chairman), thoroughly examined the constitutional framework of our party.

“The fundamental issue before the Court was whether A.K. Ajibade, SAN, continued to be the National Legal Adviser with the authority to delegate legal powers to outside entities. The Court of Appeal decisively settled this matter, confirming the following indisputable legal realities.”

He emphasized that the Court ruled that with the suspension of A.K. Ajibade, SAN, on November 1, 2025, he entirely forfeited all powers granted to him by the PDP Constitution.

The Court clearly stated that, "Any use of authority granted to a party official by the party's constitution, while a suspension is active, is ultimately pointless."

Regarding the legitimacy of the party's leadership, the PDP Professionals asserted, "The Court confirmed the decision of the 608th National Working Committee (NWC), which lawfully instructed the National Directorate of Legal Services to assume the duties of the office and subsequently engage Dapo Durosaro, Esq. to represent the Party and the National Chairman."

The PDP Professionals noted that although Ajibade's suspension ended after a month, his term in office was completely concluded in December 2025.
