I Have No Time for Gen Z Wahala -Bashir El-Rufai Sparks Reactions Over Divorce Confession

I divorced my wife because I have no time for Gen Z wahala. My new wife treats me like an emperor and I’m loving it — Bashir El-Rufai

Bashir El-Rufai, son of former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai, has confirmed the end of his marriage to his first wife, Halima Nwakaego, while also revealing he is set to remarry.

Bashir and Halima, the daughter of former Jigawa senator Ibrahim Kazaure, got married on November 21, 2020.

The drama unfolded on X during the Eid celebrations after Bashir publicly expressed admiration for another woman on the platform.

When some users questioned him over the post and reminded him that he was married, Bashir disclosed that the woman is now his fiancée and that he is officially divorced.

Explaining the reason behind the split, he wrote, “I divorced my first wife, I have no time for GenZ wahala. The difference is clear. I had no clue Nupe women treat their husbands like emperors. Loving it.”

His statement quickly stirred mixed reactions online, with many users debating his comments about marriage and women.

Meanwhile, signs of trouble in Bashir’s marriage had surfaced earlier after Halima appeared to hint at relationship issues during the public drama involving media personality Frank Edoho and his ex-wife Sandra.

At the time, Halima shared a photo of herself listening to singer Chike’s song “If You No Love” and captioned it, “Chike dey for you.”
