Chukwuma Soludo and his deputy, Onyekachukwu Ibezim, were on Tuesday sworn in for a second term in office at a ceremony held at the newly renovated Alex Ekwueme Square.

The oath of office and allegiance was administered at about 11:05 a.m. by the Chief Judge of the state, Onochie Anyachebelu, in accordance with the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The governor and his deputy were accompanied by their wives and family members during the ceremony.

The inauguration attracted prominent national figures, including Vice President Kashim Shettima, as well as former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, underscoring the significance of the event within Nigeria’s political landscape.

Chukwuma Soludo, who was re-elected under the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance in the November 8, 2025 off-cycle governorship election, begins his second tenure with heightened expectations from residents of Anambra State.

The swearing-in ceremony marked the culmination of a series of events that began on Sunday, March 15, with an interdenominational service held at the International Convention Centre. The service featured prayers for a successful second term and the continued progress of the state.

With his re-election secured, attention now turns to the administration’s next phase, as stakeholders anticipate the consolidation of ongoing reforms and the delivery of key development priorities across the state.
