Traffic Advisory: Lagos Marathon Will Hold On Saturday, February 14th, 2026


 The Lagos Marathon has been held on the second Saturday in February every year since 2016.

LASG ROLLS OUT TRAFFIC DIVERSION PLAN FOR LAGOS CITY MARATHON ON SATURDAY 14THFEBRUARY.

Ahead of the year 2026 edition of the Lagos City Marathontaking place on Saturday, 14th February, 2026, the Lagos State Government has released a traffic diversion plan to the motoring public.

 The marathon which consist of a 42 and 10 kilometre race will take place simultaneously using the following routes;

 The First, 42 kilometre race, will commence at AhmaduBello (By MRS Gas Station) route and run through theentire stretch of the Coastal Road which is the end point of the race.

 The Second, 10 kilometre race, will cover Durosimi Etti(Lekki Phase 1), the starting point and run through OzumbaMbadiwe to Bishop Oluwole to Akin Adesola and SanusiFafunwa which is the end point. 

In line with the traffic management plan, all affected adjoining Roads, Junctions and Intersections along race one and two will be blocked from 12.00am and 12.30pm on Saturday, 14th February, 2026. They will be opened intermittently to Motorists as the race progresses.

 All affected adjoining roads will be manned by LASTMA, and other security agencies to prevent other road users access to the main race corridor.

 The Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi, has reassured Lagosians that Traffic Management Officials will be strategically positioned to help motorists navigate their journeys. He also urged the public to plan their trips accordingly by using alternative routes and other modes of transportation.

ADVISORY: - Motorists are implored to be patient as the partial closure is part of the traffic management plans for the 11th Edition of the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon Race 2026.
