Court Fixes November 20 For Judgment In Nnamdi Kanu’s Terrorism Trial

Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court in Abuja has fixed November 20 for judgment in the terrorism trial of the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, Very Nigerian reports.

The judge made the decision on Friday after Kanu failed to open his defence, despite being granted six days by the court to do so.

Justice Omotosho ruled that since Kanu had exhausted the time allocated for his defence without taking any step, he could not claim to have been denied his constitutionally guaranteed right to a fair hearing.

The case, which has drawn national and international attention, will now proceed to judgment on the scheduled date.
