The Federal High Court in Abuja has
turned down the motioned filed by Omoyele Sowore who happens to be the
convenor of #RevolutionNow, disputing his 45 days detention by the
Department of State Security (DSS).
Justice Nkeonye Maya
forwarded the case back to Justice Taiwo for further hearing on
Wednesday after denying all the applications.
Human rights lawyer, Femi Falana, filed the applications on behalf of his client, Mr Sowore.
Falana,
who had asked the court to set aside the ex-parte order granted by
Justice Taiwo, also applied for bail orally when Justice Maha rejected
the earlier application.
Sowore has been in the custody of the DSS since August 2.
Justice
Taiwo had on August 8 ordered his detention for 45 days at the instance
of the DSS to enable the secret police carry out and conclude its
investigation on allegations levied against him.
