PRP Berate PDP-led Administration of Sen. Bala Abdulkadir Muhammed on Bauchi State 9th Assembly.

The People's Redemption Party (PRP), Bauchi State Chapter considers it necessary to make its position clear at this material time, about the shameful sham that was described by the PDP-led administration of Senator Bala Abdulkadir Muhammed as the Inauguration of the Bauchi State 9th Assembly, that purportedly took place on the 20th day of June, 2019.

The party hereby wishes to express its disapprobation against this political indecency or immorality. Our great party also wishes to dissociate itself from the gang of unethical political parties under the aegis of "Progressive Political Parties" led by Hon. Muhammed Sani Burra (the newly Appointed Special Adviser on State and National Assembly Matters to the Governor of Bauchi State) that identified themselves with this ridiculous charade and morally reprehensible conduct which is capable of throwing the state into anarchy and political standstill or better put total shutdown of governance.

PRP as a party is in total support of any progressive move towards the development of Bauchi State as an entity, but it is our firm belief which is deeply rooted in the principles and manifestos of our great party (PRP) that illegality or circumvention of norms and laid-down rules would never lead to development as it is antithetical to it and therefore, counterproductive in the long run.

History has shown that such despicable practices are anathema to our national conscience and they should be condemned by all conscientious and patriotic minds. In this 21st century, such unwholesome practices should not be encouraged and are far from the democratic ways as they are tantamount to rape and assault on democratic principles.

In conclusion, the People's Redemption Party (PRP), Bauchi State Chapter does, in strong terms, condemn the so-called Inauguration of the Bauchi State 9th Assembly and also distance itself from the so-called coalition of "Progressive Political Parties" that are expressing their support for this unprecedented political robbery which if left unchecked would set a devastating precedent in the state going forward. The People's Redemption Party (PRP) is ready to align itself with any progressive move, but abhors any act of illegality, transgression, or circumvention of democratic norms and values. In finality, we wish to call on the government of the day to employ dialogue and political understanding in resolving the matter in order to avoid the taking over of legislative business of the Bauchi State House of Assembly by the National Assembly as provided under section 11 (4) of the 1999 Constitution (as Amended), so as to ensure that the mandate of the good people of Bauchi State is not taken for granted and the lapses or failures of the last administration are not replicated.
