Immediate past governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose has urged
Nigerians to ignore the death threat by President Muhammadu Buhari ahead
of the presidential and National Assembly elections.
Buhari had on Monday during the All Progressives Congress,APC, caucus
meeting ordered security agencies to deal ruthlessly with any Nigerian
that snatches ballot boxes.
The president’s statement has since generated outrage across the country.
However, Fayose speaking at the PDP NEC emergency meeting in Abuja on
Tuesday charged Nigerians not to be afraid but go out and vote for PDP,
adding that, ‘ Fear will still kill you one day’
The former governor further revealed that the incoming government
will deal with any military officer found guilty of taking the life of
any Nigerian during or after the elections.
He said: “Dear Nigerians, do not be afraid of police, military and security agencies.
“If you are afraid to go out and vote, fear will still kill you one day.
“I charge you to go out and vote for PDP.
“Any military officer that has instruction to kill, take note, life
is sacred and this incoming government will not spare you if you take
any life.
“Don’t be afraid of any military officer, go out and vote on Saturday to overthrow this government.”
