How Buhari is ‘forcing’ PDP members into APC – Babatope
President Muhammadu Buhari is using the fight against corruption to
bully politicians from the opposition into joining the ruling All
Progressives Congress (APC).
This is coming as outgoing Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, who has
been placed on watch-list by the Economic and Financial Crimes
Commission (EFCC), on Monday threatened to dump the Peoples Democratic
Party (PDP) soon.
Speaking in an interview with Daily Independent, Babatope, a member of
the PDP Board of Trustees (BoT), said the President has not waged any
serious war against corruption since he came into office almost four
years ago.
He stressed that politicians are only described as corrupt when they
are in the opposition party.
Babatope said: "President Buhari has not done anything called
anti-corruption. Anti-corruption has been a political propaganda by
Buhari to ensure that he gets members to his party.
"A man is said to be corrupt, then the next day, he runs to the APC,
and is called up, and his sins are forgiven.
"Forget the nonsense called anti-corruption."
