Trump speaks on US lawmakers impeaching him

US President, Donald Trump has warned that impeaching him would cause
the economy to crash.

In an interview with Fox News on Thursday, Trump commented on his
former lawyer, Michael Cohen, pleading guilty to campaign tax
violations in federal court in New York on Tuesday, during which he
implicated the president.

"If I ever got impeached, I think the market would crash. I think
everybody would be very poor".

He added that Americans would see economic "numbers that you wouldn't
believe in reverse".

"I don't know how you can impeach somebody who's done a great job," he said.

However, Trump accused Cohen of implicating him to get a better deal
with prosecutors, saying the latter, "makes a better deal when he uses
me".

"It's called flipping and it almost ought to be illegal," Trump said.

"It's not a fair thing, but that's why he did it. He made a very good deal."

Trump claimed people who decide to cooperate with the government "make
up stories" and "just make up lies".

"I've known all about flipping – for 30 or 40 years I've been watching
flippers … I've had many friends involved in this stuff… you get 10
years in jail.

"But if you say bad things about somebody, in other words, make up
stories if you don't know, they just make up lies … and now they go
from 10 years to they're a national hero."
