Transfer: Real Madrid eyes late bid for PSG’s Mbappe to replace Ronaldo
for Paris Saints-Germain star, Kylian Mbappe to replace Cristiano
Ronaldo at the Santiago Bernabeu before the window closes on August
31.
Real made a decision to accept a £88million offer from Juventus for
Ronaldo at the start of the summer, but has not replaced the
33-year-old yet.
But a Spanish newspaper, Marca, is reporting that the Los Blancos are
preparing a move for Mbappe in the event that PSG are found to have
violated UEFA's Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules.
PSG have until Monday to act on the £160million purchase option in
Mbappe's contract, having originally signed the France international
on loan from Monaco.
UEFA must resolve PSG's FFP situation by August 30, and if they are in
breach of the rules, they may be unable to sign Mbappe or forced to
sell him as soon as they trigger their purchase option, potentially
for a profit.
Mbappe gave 8 assists, scored 13 goals, in 24 starts for PSG last season.
