Osun guber: Plaintiffs plead to withdraw certificate, eligibility case against Adeleke

An Osun State High Court sitting in Osogbo on Wednesday adjourned
ruling on the eligibility of the Peoples Democratic Party's candidate
in the September 22 governorship election in Osun State, Ademola
Adeleke, to contest as PDP candidate.

We reports that two members of PDP, Rasheed Olabayo and Oluwaseun
Idowu, had approached the court that Senator Adeleke does not have
certificates as required by Section 177 (d) of the 1999 constitution.

The duo of the PDP members told the court to set aside the July 21,
201 primary election which produced him as the governorship candidate
of the PDP in the state.

Meanwhile, the presiding judge, Justice David Oladimeji explained that
granting the leave to restrain the PDP from presenting Adeleke as its
governorship candidate over his inability to present his certificate
may subject the court to mockery if the Senator thereafter presents
the certificate.

However, the plaintiffs in the case, on Wednesday hinted the court on
their decision to withdraw the case and settle out of court.

The court, however, adjourned to August 6 for hearing of all
applications before it.
