Pope accepts resignation of archbishop convicted of child abuse cover-up
archbishop, Philip Wilson.
Wilson was convicted in May over covering up of abuse by a notorious
paedophile priest in the 1970s.
The statement reads, "The Holy Father Francis accepted the resignation
of the pastoral government of the Archdiocese of Adelaide (Australia),
presented by S.E. Mons. Philip Edward Wilson," the Vatican said in a
statement.
