Ekiti election: Mega Party reveals what it will do to Fayemi
means to ensure that the governor-elect of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi
delivers dividends of democracy to the people of the state.
Chairman of MPN in Ekiti State, Dare Adekolu, also said the party will
accept the result of the Saturday's election and move on.
He added that Mega Party, through adequate preparation for future
elections, would ensure that its "initial mandate to make Ekiti great
again is not jeopardized."
Adekolu said this in a statement in Ado Ekiti, noting that issues
around the party's candidate for the election played a major role in
drawing it backward.
Congratulating the All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate, Kayode
Fayemi, on his victory, the MPN chairman said, "MPN will provide
credible opposition to the incoming government to check excesses and
ensure the land and its people are not denied of development and
better lives.
"As a new party, the outcome of the election is not a setback for us,
but stepping stones for realization of our mission to rescue Ekiti
from bad governance and ensure prosperity of the people.
"We have learnt our lessons. We are people of very strong mind and
will. We believe that obstacles are challenges to do more. From now,
we'll begin preparation ahead of future election to occupy the exalted
seat."
"We are embarking on internal reconciliation. Then, we will start
reaching out to prominent people in the state to join hands to take
the state to greater heights. Right away, we are grooming new leaders
to make the party stronger.
