Senator Shehu Sani representing Kaduna Central Senatorial district
has said that the late MKO Abiola, the presumed winner of the 1993
presidential election once told him that the Emir of Zazzau was close to
him than anyone else in the north.

him years back that the Emir was the only confidant he has in the whole
of the northern region of the country, stating that the late

“In the whole of Northern Nigeria, the closest to Abiola and his close confidant was HRH, Emir of Zazzau, Alhaji Shehu Idris.”
“Their relationship was not political, but personal, a truth, I was told by the President-elect, Chief MKO Abiola.”
Shehu Sani was in the struggle for the declaration of the late
