The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Ibrahim Idris, refused to talk
to reporters on Monday after meeting with Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo
and the Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, SAN.
The meeting was held behind closed doors at the Presidential Villa,
Abuja. It was also attended by the Director-General of the Department of
State Services, DSS, Lawal Daura.
When the IGP was approached by State House correspondents at the end of the meeting, he declined comments.
The meeting followed the summoning of the President of the Senate,
Bukola Saraki, by the police over his alleged relationship with suspects
arrested with respect to the April 5 bank robbery in Offa, Kwara State.
It also came shortly after the DSS withdrew some of its men attached
to Saraki and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu
Dogara.
Saraki would however be later requested by the police to respond to the allegation over the Offa bank robbery in writing.
