The Zamfara State Police command has reacted to the publication making the rounds that the state is under a ‘reign of terror.’
The command’s Public Relations Officer, Supol Mohammad Shehu, in a
statement cleared the air on the mass execution of residents in the
state even as he condemned the publication as a calculated attempt to
create fear and apprehension in the minds of the residents.
He, therefore, enjoined members of the public to disregard the publication.
The statement reads, “Reign of terror, “means mass execution, usage
of guillotine to behead victims, a situation where opponents are
ruthlessly persecuted.”
“For the avoidance of doubt and purpose of clarity, Zamfara State is
not experiencing any of the above situations and the command is not
under siege.
“The Commissioner of Police (CP) Mr. Kenneth Ebrimson has put the
command’s crime fighting methodologies and strategies effectively
emplaced in all the 14 local government areas (LGAs) of the state to
checkmate criminal activities.
“The crime situation and management of the state is under control as
all security agencies are working assiduously to ensure safety, security
and peace of the state.”
