PDP-led government in Abia looting public funds – APGA aspirant, Ubadire

A House of Representatives aspirant on the platform of the All
Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, in Abia state, Chimezie Ubadire,on
Thursday, alleged that the Peoples Democratic Party-led government in
the state, was silently looting the common wealth of the people, and
expressed disappointment at the failure of the state government to
fulfill its electoral promises.

He said, the Governor Okezie Ikpeazu-led administration has failed in
all facets of governance, despite huge funds being accrued to Abia
state for execution of developmental projects.

Ubadire, who is vying for Ikwuano/Umuahia constituency seat of the
green chamber, made this known on Thursday, shortly after a political
function held in Umuahia, the state capital, expressed worry at the
manner, the state is being denied federal amenities, and blamed
lawmakers of Abia extraction in the National Assembly for failing to
compel the federal government to do the needful.

According to the APGA chieftain,"It is unfortunate that this present
government in Abia state has not scratched the surface of what they
are able to do, given the the kind of funds the government receives
from the federal government".

"Abia is a oil-producing state under NDDC. Yet, how many NDDC roads
have you seen in Abia? I have been privileged to travel to Oguta in
Imo state. Almost every roads in oguta were tidy by NDDC".

"They showed me a road in a community and I was told the road was done
by NDDC. I told them is not possible. That NDDC, has a standard. This
cannot be NDDC road. What does that imply?.

He added,"The Abia leaders has gone and negotiated, pocketed the money
and just come and do anyhow here. As far as I'm concern, we don't have
any government in this state".

"When is time to share money, they will come and share our money and
disappeared immediately. Our representatives are no longer carrying
out constituency projects".

"During time for elections, they come and give a poor man, a bag of
rice, salt, bean and steal his vote, and go back to Abuja. And
then,nobody hears from them anymore".

" So, again, as far as I'm concerned, Abia does not have any leader.
And God has not truly given us blessed leaders to lead to our promised
land".

He called on the eligible Abia electorates to remain steadfast and
obtain their permanent voter's cards,PVC, to enable them elect
credible people, that would accept responsibilities, and work for the
benefit of all.

Meanwhile, the special Adviser to the Abia state governor on
E-governance, Mr. Obed Nnaji Asiegbu, in his reaction, vowed that no
amount of name-calling and propaganda from the opposition would stop
PDP from retaining power in 2019,

He said that Governor Okezie Ikpeazu-led administration in Abia, has
fulfilled its electoral promises to the people of the state, and
boasted that come 2019, the governor would win if he declares to run
for second term.

According to him,"This administration has been prudent and transparent
in the management of the resources of the state. The Governor has
initiated and completed road construction. He brought Made in Aba
products to the world map".

"Everywhere in the country,Aba products are patronised. So, I'm
advising the public to disregard the allegation by this APGA people.
We will defeat them, again come 2019".
