Unai Emery: Aiden McGeady reveals how former PSG boss was sacked

Sunderland player, Aiden McGeady, has disclosed how his former boss at Spartak Moscow, Unai Emery was sacked by the club.

Emery was on Wednesday unveiled at Arsenal as replacement for Arsene Wenger at the Emirate Stadium.
The Spaniard had managerial jobs at Lorca Deportivo, Almeria and Valencia before making the move to Russia to coach Spartak Moscow.

But Emery didn’t last long at Spartak and had only 26 games. McGeady, who played under him in Russia, has now revealed how the Arsenal manager was brutally sacked after a 5-1 defeat to Dynamo Moscow.
He told talkSPORT, “We played Dynamo Moscow and lost. It’s a derby, it’s not the biggest derby, but it’s still a derby.
“The chairman comes in the dressing room and says, ‘Unai, finished!’

“Unai was like, ‘I don’t care I don’t care. Whatever.’ He just walked out.
“I was like, ‘Has he just been sacked here?’”
Despite Emery’s brief spell at Spartak, he went on to make a name for himself at Sevilla.

He won the Europa League three times with the Spanish club before moving to Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2016.
