The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Kaduna State chapter, has vowed to
sustain its allegations that the Army and the Police aided the ruling
All Progressives Congress, APC, in perpetuating illegalities in the
Kaduna State May 12 local government election.
The Nigerian Army 1 Div, through its Director Army Public Relations,
Col. Mohammed Dole, had given the main opposition party, Peoples
Democratic Party, PDP, seven days to retract allegations of its
involvement in aiding the ruling party, All Progressive Congress, APC,
in perpetuating illegalities during the Kaduna State local government
election.
But the PDP in a reaction through its state Publicity Secretary,
Abraham Alberah Catoh, assured that the party was laced with evidences
of their claim on the Army’s involvement in alleged rigging of the May
12 local government election in the state.
Catoh assured that, “we are waiting for them, we have pictorial and video evidences to back our claims.”
The main opposition party, PDP, had cried foul following results
announced by the Kaduna State Independent Electoral Commission,
KADSIECOM, claiming that its candidates swept the polls in the 23 local
government councils in the state.
PDP said that the APC used security agencies, comprising the Army and the Police in stealing its mandate.
A video circulated by a PDP chieftain, who was a former commissioner
in the state, alleged that the returning officer of Makarfi Ward in
Makarfi Local Government Area declared its candidate winner, but was
shocked that a different candidate from the ruling party was later
announced as the winner.
