APC congress: Minister, ex-governor, others adopt zoning formula in Ebonyi

The All Progressive Congress, APC, Ebonyi State chapter on Monday said it has adopted zoning formula for the state congress scheduled to hold next Saturday in the state.

It was gathered that the adoption of zoning formula for the state congress followed the submission of a 3-man committee headed by the Minister of science and technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu from Ebonyi south senatorial zone.
Other members include the former governor of Ebonyi state, Chief Martin Elechi from Ebonyi Central senatorial zone and ex-Senator Chris Nwankwo from Ebonyi North senatorial zone.

The chairman of the party, Mr. Eze Nwachukwu while briefing Journalists in Abakaliki shortly after the party’s stakeholders meeting that took place at Nkwagu Ugbala grand arena located along old Enugu-Abakaliki express road said the party adopted the resolution of the 3 elders of the party to avert crisis.
Eze said, “the state chairman, Ex-officio and zonal women leader is zoned to Ohaukwu Local government area while state welfare Secretary, Asst. Women leader and National executive council (NEC) Officer is zoned to Ohaozara LGA.”
Others include: “state deputy chairman, zonal youths leader, south east zonal secretary and assistant Secretary is zoned to Ezza north while women leader, assist. Legal adviser, physically challenged leader is zoned to Ebonyi LGA.

“Fin.Secretary, zonal youth leader, zonal women leader is zoned to Afikpo south LGA while state secretary and assistant publicity Secretary is zoned to Afikpo north LGA. Zonal chairman, deputy fin.Secretary and assistant welfare secretary is zoned to Abakaliki LGA.
“Treasurer, zonal youth leader, ex- officio is zoned to Izzi LGA while legal adviser, deputy state secretary, assist. Youth leader (state) is zoned Ishielu LGA. Auditor, Assist. Treasurer and zonal chairman is zoned to Ivo LGA among others.”
The chairman noted that APC in Ebonyi State were now peaceful and united, but called on few stakeholders who were still aggrieved to embrace peace to enable them takeover the government of Ebonyi come 2019.
Those in attendance included the minister of science and technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, ex-governor Martin Elechi, senator Sonni Ogbuoji representing Ebonyi south senatorial zone, Ex-senator Chris Nwankwo, former governorship aspirant Mr. Edward Nkwoegu, Dr. Mike Okoro, who is a former governorship aspirant, Peter Edeh and Tobias Okwuru who are former House of Representatives members, among other respected leaders of APC in the state.
