Ararume, Uwajiumogu storm out of APC meeting in Imo

The national organising secretary of the All Progressives Congress,
APC, Osita Izunaso, senators Ifeanyi Araraume and Benjamin Uwajiumogu
yesterday, stormed out midway into meeting of the party's leadership
in Imo State.

The meeting, held at Concorde Hotel in Owerri, behind closed door,
lasted for about two hours and 30 minutes.

The state chairman, Hillary Eke, presided over the meeting which was
said to have been allegedly boycotted by Governor Rochas Okorocha.

The governor, according to the report, had insisted that the meeting
be held at the Imo Government House.

The state publicity secretary of the party, Nwabueze Oguchienti, who
addressed newsmen, said the stakeholders addressed issues of internal
democracy, the proposed local government election in June, and the
party primary elections later in the year

He said, "The meeting reached resolutions on internal democracy,
discipline, peace and unity of the party. We want to position our
party ahead of party primary."

Senators Izunaso, Araraume and Uwajiumogu refused to talk to
journalists but the deputy governor told newsmen that "this is the
first SEC meeting of the party. We urge our members to go on intensive
mobilisation drive."

The deputy chief of staff to the governor, Kingsley Uju, said Okorocha
was out of the country, adding that "those who stormed out of the
meeting did not mean well for the party in the state."
