Those who abuse, disrespect others can’t succeed me – Ajimobi

Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State has declared that he will not
allow those who abuse or disrespect traditional rulers, people of
other geopolitical zones, among other people in the state, to succeed
him in 2019.

Ajimobi made this declaration on Tuesday in Iseyin, the headquarters
of Iseyin local government during a town Hall meeting and empowerment
program organized by Chairman, Senate Committee on Information and
Communications Technology (ICT) and Cyber Crime, Dr. Abdulfatai
Buhari, at the Permanent orientation camp of the National Youth
Service Corps (NYSC).

The governor who said he did not mind whether people abused or praised
him for the good job he was doing in the state said he will not fold
his hands to allow those who abuse him and the people of Ibadan and
other geopolitical zones in the state to succeed him.

Ajimobi while reassuring the people of Oke-Ogun of his support to
produce the next governor of the state, urged the people of the area
to call their sons who are contesting to a meeting to produce the best
among themselves, warning that such candidate must not be someone who
abuses and disrespects traditional rulers and people of the other
zones.

Ajimobi said " an abuser can't succeed me in Oyo state. I love
Oke-Ogun people, they are very reliable people, they are very grateful
people but abuser can't succeed me. If we want to support the people
of Oke-Ogun, let them call themselves and present the best but my
abuser can't become governor.

"Don't abuse Ibadan, don't present someone who will abuse. Like I use
to sing, those who are abusing us, let them continue to abuse us, and
those who are loving us, let them continue to love us, it is only
those whose life is doomed that will be looking for supporters.
Remember campaign will soon start, 'we are talkers and we will talk'".

Ajimobi while commending the feats recorded by the senator, Abdulfatai
Buhari, also urged him to attract more projects and programs that
would open employment opportunities for the people of the area.

He added "The part I am doing is to govern, it will pay us if our
party continues to win. I am now declaring that out of the Senators
that I have seen, if I say Buhari is the best that means he is better
than me but if I say he is the best it is like that but I am the best
governor of Oyo state. Because I have done it before, I can say that
he is the best Senator.

"All of you here, I want you to know that it is our work to take Oyo
state to the next level. The first dualized road since the history of
Oke-Ogun, we are the one that did it. I want all of you to come
together, in peace there is always development".
