Obasanjo’s statement: Jonathan’s camp attacks Senator Ebute

George Turnah, a godson of former President, Goodluck Jonathan, has
lampooned former Senate President, Ameh Ebute, for his uncharitable
comments against Dr. Jonathan.

Senator Ebute, while reacting to former President Olusegun Obasanjo's
statement on Buhari's administration, had carpeted the administration
of Goodluck Jonathan.

In a letter by Turnah in reply to Senator Ebute, the ex-aide to former
NDDC boss expressed concern that instead of the former Senate
President to address Chief Obasanjo, he allegedly made unguarded
statements against the administration of Dr. Jonathan, which he had
commended back in 2013.

He recalled the former Senate President's reply to former President
Obasanjo's letter to the then President Jonathan with the title 'RE:
BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE'.

"In that letter which you carefully drafted, you, Senator Ebute,
stated that 'the Jonathan administration is a pride to Nigeria and has
positively impacted on the lives of Nigerians," Turnah said.

Turnah cautioned Senator Ebute, "to tread carefully and act like an
elder statesman."

He added that, "it would have been honourable if the former Senate
President had spoken out against the pogrom in Benue State, the
poverty and failing systems in the country."

Turnah wondered why the "former Senate President could not muster the
courage to speak on the crisis confronting the country under the All
Progressives Congress, APC-led Federal Government instead of
dissipating energy on the past administration."
