No fewer than 26 persons who committed different crimes were yesterday
freed from Abakaliki federal prisons by the Ebonyi state Chief Judge,
Justice Alloy Nwankwo.
Nwankwo made this known while briefing journalists shortly after a
jail delivery that took place at the Abakaliki federal prisons located
opposite ministry of works.
According to him, "3 persons were granted bail on self recognition. 16
persons were granted bail with conditions, then 8 persons were
discharged making it a total of 26 persons," he said.
It was gathered that most of the inmates spent 7 to 8 years in prison
without any information or case file.
