Benue killings: What protesting youths did to Gov. Ortom
Ortom, who arrived the Wurukum roundabout in Makurdi, the state capital where the aggrieved youths were protesting, was pelted with objects.
The Benue youths, who wielded posters called on President Muhammadu Buhari to “act now or resign.”
One of the protesters, Terhemen Anum, who spoke to News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, said residents of Guma and Logo local government areas “did not have the exact figure of the number of farmers, women, children and the aged who were killed.”
Another protester named Ruth Agba, insisted that herdsmen who were killing Benue farmers and destroying their homes were Boko Haram.
The source who wished not to be mention said, “Soldiers who are supposed to be protecting us from Fulani herdsmen killed two guys during the protest; are soldiers now helping Fulanis? We demand an answer from Buhari.”
Following the killings in Benue State, Buhari had yesterday ordered security agencies to ensure that perpetrators were brought to justice.
