NSCDC arrest, prosecute rapists, thieves in Kaduna

Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, in charge of Area Command ‘B’, Zaria, Kaduna, arrested 18 rape suspects in 2017.
Area Commander, Alh Abubakar Musa Isa, while briefing newsmen in Zaria explained that out the number, 11 suspects were prosecuted while 7 are at large.

Alh Isa pointed out that the offences committed by the suspects include defiling of underage girls, theft, vandalization, fraud among others.
The Area Commander disclosed that his command also arrested and prosecuted 22 suspects for theft cases.
“Our personnel are up and doing in terms of protecting the pipelines as many pipelines pass through our jurisdiction.
“We are also monitoring filling stations and control those that sell above approved pump price or had their litre gauge distorted.

“Cases of fraud were also reported to us and some were based on intelligence reports.
“We had about 12 of such cases and were able to help some victims recover their money from fraudsters. We also intercepted fake fertilizer”, he explained.
On drugs abuse, Isa stated that his Command was assisting National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, in the fight against the menace.
“We also partake in conflict resolution as one of our mandate,” he added.
