Army Generals stole funds under your hero, Jonathan – Presidency blast Reno Omokri

The presidency has reacted to statement by former aide to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri, condemning President Buhari’s plan to spend $1bn to fight Boko Haram and other security challenges.
Reno Omokri had on Tuesday shared a speech by President Buhari in 2014 condemning Jonathan’s request for $1 billion to fight the violent sect.

The President’s Personal Assistant on New Media, Bashir Ahmad, in a statement via twitter, said huge money were already allocated for the war during Jonathan’s administration before a fresh request Buhari kicked against was made.
According to him, under Jonathan, money meant for welfare of soldiers fighting Boko Haram were used by Army Generals to obtain properties.
He wrote: “Reno, before your hero asked for the loan which @MBuhari kicked against, several money meant to prosecute the Boko Haram insurgency including buying arms and taking care of the welfare of soldiers went into private pockets. Nigerians, you and I knew that.
“Under the Buhari administration, no such incidence has been recorded. Moneys meant for the weapons and soldiers welfare go to them. This is the reason why Nigerians trust that the money will be utilized for its purpose, not the kind we witnessed under previous administration.”
