7 killed, 91 injured in Edo road crash

No fewer than seven persons were on wednesday confirmed dead in several road accidents that occurred across Edo State during the Xmas and Boxing Day celebrations.
It was gathered that some of the accidents occurred at night along the Benin-bye pass.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Sector Commander, Mr Samuel Odukoya, who confirmed this to newsmen advised motorists to be extra careful when driving at night.
The sector commander also said a total of 91 persons were injured in the accidents.
Odukoya said he deployed 1500 Special Marshals and 407 regular marshals to the highways to ensure safe driving.
He urged motorists to always ensure their vehicles were in good condition and to avoid over speeding.
