PDP chairmanship: Daniel’s camp reacts to South-west leaders’ shortlist of 3 aspirants
The South-west members of the party’s Board of Trustees (BoT) picked only three names from the eight contenders vying for the seat.
The caucus, however, selected former minister of Sports and Special Duties, Prof. Taoheed Adedoja; former National Vice and Deputy Chairman of the Party, Chief Olabode George; and Former Education Minister Prof. Tunde Adeniran.
The decision is contained in a document dated November 3, 2017 and signed by former deputy national chairman, Alhaji Shuaibu Oyedokun on behalf of other members of South-west caucus.
Reacting, Gbenga Daniel Campaign Organisation dismissed the purported endorsement of some candidates.
“The PDP is still smarting from a disastrous electoral outing in the last two and a half years.
“Our party is just recovering from acts of impunity and unilateral actions like this; and never again do we pray for such as we move on to repackage the party.”
He added that Daniel is “currently on a nationwide tour of all the 36 states chapters of our party consulting with leaders and potential delegates, preaching the gospel of internal democracy and retuning the party to the people at the grassroots.”
