Kaduna journalist, Luka Binniyat, regains freedom after 90 days in prison
Justice Bashir Sukola had while granting Luka Binniyat bail on the 20th July, 2017 announced that two sureties were to bring their international passports to be deposited in the Court with N10m each and a bank bond.
It was then decided that bail be granted the accused with three sureties upon presentation of bank statement of not less than ten million Naira credit each.
In addition, the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Kaduna State Council is also expected to stand as a surety for the accused..
The Kaduna State government had dragged Luka Binniyat to court on two count charges over publication in Vanguard Newspapers on the alleged killings of five students of College of Education, Gidan-Waya published on 22nd January, 2017.
