The law will take effect from Wednesday, November 1.
Addressing the protesters during the match, Coodinator of Benue Youth Forum, Kuanum Terrence, said they decided to come together under the forum to offer their perspective on the anti open grazing law recently passed by the Benue State House of Assembly.
Terrence said, “We are aware Of that Benue has been under seige for a while with the heardsmen rendering our people homeless, destroying their farm lands and making them refugees in the own land .
“Inspite of the law achieving the desired peace it is to bring to Benue people the Miyetti Allah is still threatening the peace of Benue vowing to invade Benue and cause more destruction and never to obey the law.
“This has become worrisome and that’s why we are here urging the inspector General of Police to arrest the leadership of the Miyetti Allah and persecute them and the let takes it’s cause,we equally call on the Senate president to urge the law enforcement agencies to come to our aid before before the Miyetti group erase us from our own land.
“We also appreciate Governor Ortom for standing with the people and making he sets up a law that we stand the test of time and bring lasting peace to the good people of Benue and Nigeria.”
