Delta impeachment: I remain council chairman – Ebikeme Clark insists

Hon. Ebikeme Clark has insisted that he remains the Chairman of Burutu Local Government Council of Delta State.
The embattled council boss said only the Delta State House of Assembly can remove him from office.

Clark made the assertion while speaking with newsmen in Warri on Tuesday after he was impeached by the Burutu Legislative arm.
“I remain Chairman of Burutu Local Government Area. Only the Delta State House of Assembly that I respect so much can remove me from Office,”‎ he insisted.
Clark stated that he owed no councillor or worker despite the current challenges which led to his impeachment yesterday.
Clark described the councillors and workers as people who want to make it overnight without considering the interests of the electorates.

Clark promised to remain resolute in doing the right thing saying, “I will ensure that Government money is used for Government business and not to be shared.
“No matter the intimidation and blackmail, I will not derail even to the very last day of my tenure.”
