Campbell now Buhari’s consultant – Jonathan’s ex-aide, Omokri blasts ex-US envoy
Campbell had called Patience Jonathan, an arrogant and corrupt woman who amassed so much wealth under her husband.
It reads: “It is most unfortunate that the former US ambassador to Nigeria, John Campbell, who is now a consultant to certain Nigerians and a self confessed admirer of President Muhammadu Buhari, would again insult Nigerians with his procured opinions meant to divert the public from the monumental $26 billion corruption scam recently uncovered in the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation of which President Muhammadu Buhari is the supervising minister.
This time, Ambassador Campbell has taken on the Body of Christ and former First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan.
According to Ambassador Campbell, Southern Christians are opposed to President Muhammadu Buhari’s anti corruption war because they were benefiting from the Jonathan administration.
Continuing, Mr. Campbell also said “Christians dominated the Jonathan government”.
First of all, the Jonathan administration is the only Nigerian administration that had an equal number of Christian and Muslims in the Federal cabinet. Nigerians also recall that under the previous administration there was balance in the security agencies as against today where the leadership of the military and paramilitary bodies is heavily skewed against some sections of the nation.
How Ambassador Campbell can expect his readers to believe that a minority party like the PDP can dominate the House of Representatives, led on all fronts by members of the ruling All Progressive Congress beats the imagination.
The fact remains that the House of Representatives is a legally constituted legislative body with powers to summon and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission is a legally constituted law enforcement body that should be subject to the law.
When the EFCC and its Chairman, who should implement the law, now flagrantly and blatantly disobey the law by refusing to honour a legal summons by a legal body, Christians should not be made a scapegoat as consultant John Campbellseeks to do.
Ambassador John Campbell, who has become a busybody in other people’s affairs, sunk to a new low of insulting the former First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan, describing her as “as being arrogant and flamboyant”.
Ambassador Campbell should be informed that while it is the custom of his clients to consign women to “the other room”, President Jonathan had no such inclination and has the proud distinction of being the first and only Nigerian leader to have reserved 35% of all appointive positions at the federal level to women.
Empowering women does not mean that you have made them arrogant. Former President Goodluck Jonathan empowered women and no one, not even Ambassador John Campbell, can put that genie back in the bottle.
