Internet fraudster who duped man of 80,000 dollars arrested
The suspect, Femi Agbolade pretended to be a woman and was using a female picture to deceive his victim on social media while the alleged fraud lasted.
The state Commissioner of Police, Olafimihan Adeoye, confirmed this while parading suspect before newsmen.
Adeoye explained that the suspect was arrested after a tip-off by a Nigerian, urging other citizens to always release useful information that could help in eliminating criminals from the state.
Adeoye decried the increasing rate at which young people engage in internet frauds and noted that it showed that the youths were not ready to work again but only seeking quick means to get rich.
However, the suspect denied collecting 80,000 dollars from the victim, claiming he only collected 43,000 dollars.
“I only collected 43,000 dollars.”
“Before now, I have been in the illegal business since 2015.”
