Fashola has failed Nigerians – Reno Omokri laments deaths caused by generator fumes

Reno Omokri, ex-aide to the immediate past President Goodluck Jonathan, Tuesday night said the Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, has failed to live up to expectations.
He recalled that Fashola in 2014 lampooned the Jonathan administration of levity in handling the power problems plaguing the nation.

Fashola, while the serving as the governor of Lagos state, had said that “any serious government will fix Nigeria’s power problem in six months”
Commenting on the spate of deaths arising from inhalation of generator fumes in the country, Omokri said never in the history of Nigeria have people died from inhaling generator fumes in the quantum that it is happening today.

He blamed the surge in the number of deaths on the drop in the generating capacity of the power sector under Fashola’s ministerial supervision, stressing that Nigerians now spend $5 billion annually importing generators which end up killing the people.

Omokri said: “I hope Babatunde Raji Fashola, who promised that the ONLY way to get power is to vote out PDP, is reading of the almost daily deaths of Nigerians from generator fumes!
“Google ‘Nigeria death from generator fumes’ and you will find out that NEVER in the history of Nigeria have people been dying from inhaling generator fumes in the quantum that it is happening today.

“Today, Nigeria is generating less power than it was on July 12, 2014 when Fashola made that statement. Because Fashola and President Muhammadu Buhari have disappointed them, Nigerians now spend $5 billion annually importing generators! (Please Google this if you think I am lying).
“You see my people, change does not always mean progress!”
