Tension in Orubebe’s village as suspected militants attack Army formation, kill soldier
The incident occurred at the country home of former Niger Delta Affairs minister, Elder Godsday Orubebe.
Sources say the hoodlums caught the soldiers unawares and invaded the formation at about 2a.m and overpowered them.
“We heard gunshots at the scene of the incident at about 2.am this morning only to realize that the army formation was under siege,” a female resident staying a few kilometers from the scene of the incident said.
“The community is on siege for now.
“I am calling for caution on the part of the Nigeria military as they should use their intelligence to fish out the perpetrators of this act whom have since fled the area after the attack rather than harassing innocent residents in the area”, he said.
