Rivers court remands Six for cult related activities
The accused persons, Saviour Felix, Jude Chinda, Samuel Abe and Emeka Benjamin are facing four counts charge of conspiracy and involvement in cult activities in Suit number PMC/1368c/ 2017.
The counts state: “That you Saviour Felix, Jude Chinda, Samuel Abe and Emeka Benjamin and others at large on the 16th June, 2017 at Ogbunabali town, Port Harcourt, in the Port Harcourt Magisterial District did conspire amongst yourselves to commit Felony to wit: Cult activities and thereby committed an offence punishable Under Section 7 (c) of the Secret Cult and Similar Activities (Prohibition) Laws of Rivers State No. 6 of 2004.
“That you Saviour Felix, Samuel Abe and Emeka Benjamin and others now at large on the same date and place, in the Port Harcourt Magisterial District, did belong and participate in the activities of the Secret Cult known and called Iceland cult group thereby Committed an offence punishable Under Section 1 (1) of the Secret Cult and Similar Activities (Prohibition) Laws of Rivers State No. 6 of 2004.
The trial Magistrate, Sir Sokari Andrew-Jaja, remanded the accused persons in prison, saying that his court lacks jurisdiction to grant them bail.
