Reigners’ church building collapse: Commission of inquiry submits findings
The church building collapsed last year December during the bishopric enthronement of the Church founder, Apostle Akan Weeks, claiming hundreds of lives of worshippers.
While receiving the report from the commission’s chairman, Justice Umoekoyo Esang, retd, Governor Udom Emmanuel stated his readiness to implement the recommendations in the report.
The governor thanked members of the commission for accepting to serve and executing the responsibility given to them, adding that, they had showed much commitment to the service of the people.
“We will do everything to implement and prevent future occurrence of this tragedy. May this affliction never occur the second time.”
The governor also used the occasion to commiserate with families of the deceased during the tragedy.
He said that the committee worked harmoniously with other relevant groups in the state to arrive at the report.
