Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, on Wednesday
assured that the fresh crisis between the Presidency and the Senate
would be resolved amicably.
Mohammed gave the assurance in a chat with State House correspondents at the presidential villa, Abuja.
Mohammed revealed that the threat by the Senate was briefly discussed during the Council’s meeting.
He said: “Clearly it came up at the meeting, but the fact of the
matter is that we have a very excellent mechanism for resolving whatever
issues is between us and the National Assembly and that is being
addressed.”
Recall that on Tuesday, the Senate attacked Osinbajo over his position that not all appointments by the executive needed confirmation.
In protest, Senate turned down Osinbajo’s letter to confirm the
Director General, National Lottery Regulatory Commission, Lanre
Gbajabiamila.
The development followed a motion brought by Senator Sani Yerima, Zamfara West Senatorial district.
