Buhari’s Senior Special Assistant, Obono-Obla names those allegedly behind cults activities in his village

The Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Prosecutions, Barrister Okoi Obono-Obla has named those allegedly behind cult activities in his village, Ugep in Yakurr local government area of Cross River State.
A statement forwarded to the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris for investigation and published on his facebook page on cult related violence in his native Ugep, named 20 persons allegedly involved in cult activities in the area.

He alleged that the listed persons participated in the cult activity which resulted in violent crime that unfortunately led to the killing of a young man, Jude Iroegbu Jnr, his nephew.
Obla named Item Eno Obla (of Utom, Ijiman Town, Ugep), Sunday Abam (a.k.a OjorKesorokpor) of Aneja, Ijom Town, Ugep and Nta Ofor (aka Obor), as being the ring leaders who murdered his nephew in cold blood.

He also listed Ebri Omenka, Era Felix Ibiang, Ikpi Ewa, Otu Ikpi Ewa, Sunday Ojo, Derricko Okoi, Arikpo Okoi Opukor, Cross Belt, Payapaya Obol Yaseni, Eni Offiong, Idebe Etowa, Etowa Etowah, Utum Ejegbe, Ebri Udumo, Ken Senator, Ubi Eno, Eteme Ofem and one Authority, as being the remainder of the suspected killer squad.

Amazingly, Obla also submitted that one of the suspected ringleaders served as Palace Guards in the Obol Lopon’s Palace, Ugep, the official residence of the local monarch but the Palace has since denied the allegations.
The Monarch, the Obol Lopon of Ugep and Paramount Ruler of Yakurr has called on the Governor of Cross River State, Senator Ben Ayade to ”constitute a high powered Judicial Commission to investigate the remote and immediate causes of the recent outbreak and cult related violence and killings in Obudu, Ogoja, Ugep and Calabar South with a view to identifying the perpetrators of cult inspired violence and killings in the State.”
