Boko Haram terrorists still control some Borno villages – Gwoza indigenes
They said the whole local government is under the control of Boko Haram insurgents except the local government headquarters and Pulka, where the returning refugees from Cameroon and displaced persons brought back from Maiduguri and other areas are kept and protected by the military.
Also Suleiman Nasir, an IDP at the Bakassi Camp in Maiduguri said many of their villages are still being controlled by the Boko Haram, adding that this has made a lot of them reluctant about going back home.
“They are the authorities in all these villages. Whatever is the problem of the people, they are the ones that would judge cases, settle dispute and give sentences.
“Those who went to the village and ran back said they no longer kill unnecessarily as they did before. They only execute people who refused to abide by instructions or fail to do certain task given to them, or those they suspect take information to the military either in Pulka or in Gwoza town”, he added.
