Boko Haram: COAS commends Shettima over renovation of Bama barracks

The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Yusufu Buratai had on behalf of the Officers and Soldiers of the Nigerian Army commended the Borno State governor, Kashim Shettima for embarking on the renovation of Nigerian Army Barracks in Bama.
A statement from Brig. General Sani Usman Kukasheka, Director Army Public Ralations said, the Chief of Army Staff noted with great appreciation Governor Kashim Shettima’s consistent support to the Nigerian Army overtime.

The statement said, he particularly wish to thank Governor Shettima for his unrelenting support to Operation LAFIYA DOLE which assisted in the defeat of the Boko Haram terrorists and the kind gesture of the Borno State Government in providing land for the newly established Nigerian Army University in the State.
“Lieutenant General Buratai regards the commencement of renovation works in Bama Barracks as timely as it would provide a more conducive environment for the troops to settle and discharge their duties of providing security for the entire Bama community and environs,” the statement added.
